I’ll do my best to explain how getting to the top of Google happens (also called “SEO” or “Search Engine Optimization”). Basically, ranking at the top of a Google search is a big competition. Whoever pays the most money monthly or puts in the most work to their online presence wins that competition. I’ll go into more detail below:
When someone does a search in Google, there are 3 different types of results. There are Local Search results, Organic Search results, and Paid Search results.
1. Local Search appears if you do a search and there are companies nearby that pertain to your search. These 3 results appear in a box near the top of Google. The way to boost your SEO in this area is by claiming your Google Business page and updating it/post to it regularly. Also, it’s important to make sure you get your business listed on all the major directory listing sites like YellowPages, Yelp, etc. (Reference Local Search Picture)
2. Organic Search results are the results that appear beneath the Local Search results. The best way to improve your SEO in this area is by having a good website. A “good” website is one that has fresh content posted regularly, optimized well written content, and is fast to load/designed without errors. Companies spend thousands of dollars a month for SEO companies to optimize and post content to their websites, so achieving a high ranking (near the top) in Organic Results is usually pretty hard and very competitive depending on what people search for. (Reference Organic Search Picture)
3.Paid Search results are the ones you see at the very top of the page and on the sides that have the yellow “Ad” button displayed next to them. These are placed there by paying for Google Adwords. The more you pay, the higher you rank. It actually runs off of a bidding system, but we don’t need to go into that. (Reference Paid Search Picture)
So with all that being said, let’s talk about your Google Virtual Tour that you just purchased from us. Having a Google Virtual Tour does not instantly guarantee you a top spot on Google. As you can see from what I’ve previously mentioned there is A LOT of other factors involved when it comes to ranking high and getting that top spot. However, having a Google Virtual Tour DOES give you a BIG boost in your SEO efforts. 80% of ALL search on the internet goes through Google, so by using their products such as Google Business View and Google My Business, you make Google very happy, which will make them more inclined to rank you higher, if you’ve done the work in optimizing your website and handling your Local Search SEO. I’ve attached picture examples of all the different types of search, so hopefully that will help as well.
Hope this helps!
